I got a sample from Sephora with an online order. The package said the shade was “Medium 03” but I can’t find that on either the Sephora or NARS website. There are 6 “medium” shades on the Sephora product page. Uh maybe mine was the third one, “Cuba (medium with a neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones)”? In any case, the color was orange:
I’m not exaggerating, right? Right??? My friend’s response when I sent her the picture was “Oompa Loompa.” The swatch on the left had been sitting for like 10 minutes; I was hoping maybe it would oxidize to a browner or pinker color. Nope, it’s just orange. The swatch on right was a fresh one.
I did the swatch on the left after I did my face. After spreading it out on my face, I tried to convince myself that it “wasn’t that bad,” and that it was the “yellow glow” from my bathroom lights that made me look orangey, and that “I’m sure I’d look fine in natural light.” Right. 10 minutes later, I looked at my face again…and promptly washed it off.
Honestly, I was a little too distracted by its color to notice much else. I think it had a nice, thin (but not too runny) consistency, and was easy to apply.
Ugh.
